Tilehouse Street Baptist Church, Hitchin
The first event on our Easter calendar was Crack an Egg! (for Easter!) for young children and parents. Unfortunately your photographer was elsewhere. Pictures from Nessa Rackham.

The new layout in the sanctuary meant that the chairs could be cleared away and the children could sit on the floor. |
There were, as usual, plenty of craft activities to keep little hands occupied. |

On Good Friday we met at Tilehouse Street for a short service. Then Tilehouse Street's wooden cross set off down Old Park Road... |
... followed by our congregation. We met up with Christchurch and moved on through Elmside Walk to meet St Marks who were already waiting for us. |

... and on to bancroft Rec. Where all the churches in Hitchin met before processing in silence to the Market Place. |
It was fairly chilly and all the ministers wer wrapped up against the cold. |

Even the children seemed to be paying attention. |

The finished cross was a glorious contrast to the stark image above. |
